Depth of Field

This is my first image dealing with depth of field. I really like the strong colors. I also like how there is a little green napkin holder that is in focus on the very right side of the image, I think that adds a little visual interest to the image.

These are a few images that I have taken while I have been in DC. The first image is of Hillary Clinton walking into the State of the Union Address. Initially I was very upset when I saw the image on the back of my camera because I caught someones flash. However, when I put it in Photoshop and made it black and white I ended up really like it. The shadow on her face is very strong. I was uncertain if I should crop it or not, I really like the wide angle, it shows some of the congested confusion that was in Statuary Hall. The second image is of Barack Obama walking to the same event. He is being followed by Ted Kennedy. It is a strong political image because earlier that day Ted Kennedy endorsed Obama in a Rally at American University. The third image is of Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve. This picture was taken in the 2nd even I covered for the hill. I really like the wide angle of the picture. It is a view that a lot of photographers don't get, it is a little more "insider-ish." The Hill newspaper considers itself as an insider to Congress and they really look for pictures like this one. The last picture is of the National Cathedral. I really love the sky in the image. It is so smooth, it moves gracefully from white to dark, it kind of gives the image an ominous feeling, especially with the darkness of the Cathedral.
