B&W 3

Again I was changing things to black and white. This one i desaturated the image. I think there is still some fairly good detail in the image. The face, Senator Elijah Cummings, may be a little blown out on the right side, but overall I think it works fairly well. I think the big head in the foreground is a little distracting, but it works a little so show the congested-ness of the area where the photo was taken.

B&W 2

This image was taken outside Union Station. It was taken soon after the small train accident they had. I wanted to include the building as well and some of the police. I chose to have the angle a little closer to focus on the police, but the building in the back is still very visible and fairly easy to identify. I cut the saturation and played with curves to give it a little more contrast.

This picture is of Senator Orrin Hatch. It was taken outside the Capital Hill Club. I think the black and white works fairly well for the image, however I feel like I did lose some detail in the face.

One thing I've been looking for while I'm shooting for The Hill is finding little things that most photographers don't get. This is an image of Kevin O'Conner's 3 girls who were dressed the same so, in his words "we don't lose them in this place."

Exposure

I played around with my exposure times. The exposures were around 5 seconds for each picture.

Once again I was working with depth of field. Rep. Wexler and Rep. Holt.

Depth of Field 2

I took this outside the Russell Senate Office Building. I like the depth of field a lot, I love the fuzzy Capital building in the background. I think there is a little nostalgic feel to the image with it being black and white, I think it especially gets that feel with the washed out sky.
